Lots of gold, eh? I thought you folks might want to see this. It's the ceiling; one can see the coats of arms of cities represented in that chamber, which is the Senate. There's an adjoining House of Representatives (lord, I hope I'm not confusing the two) that's not as richly decorated, so I thought you wouldn't like seeing that as much, and I didn't take any pictures of it. The Belgian system, I was told, was originally a carbon copy of the Brittish parlimentary system, with the House of representatives being the analouge to the House of commons and the Senate being the analouge to the House of Lords. That's why the Senate is so much more richly decorated; that's the one where all the aristocrats, read: nobility were, and they demand their opulence.
